The authority of linking domains or ‘Domain Authority’ to your website plays an important factor. A study from Moz shows a co-relation between Domain Authority of backlinks and rankings.

The strategy to rank on the first page of Google is on the first SERP itself. It’s smart to focus on the backlinks your competitors have already got. It narrows down the backlink gap and hence you are most probable to rank on the first page and outrank your competitors.

This is a controversial factor in the SEO industry. Though not officially declared by Google, many SEOs believe that a website should get a set of links from ‘Expected’ websites in a niche. This enables Google to completely trust a website in a specific niche.

Links from “Bad Neighborhoods” can be a myth as well as a ranking factor. Make sure that you are not in a bad neighborhood of websites on a server. This usually happens when you use a shared hosting plan.

99.Nofollow Links

You can say the most controversial topic in the SEO industry is No-Follow Links. Generally, Google says “In general, we don’t follow them.” But we have seen results with No-Follow backlinks as well.

100.  Diversity of Link Types

Diversification in the backlink types matters a lot these days. Too many links coming from one source/website such as blog comments, forum backlinks, etc. are identified as web spam. Make sure that your link profile is diversified using Ahrefs or Semrush.
